SolForge App Reviews

Wtfffffff

The game is great and fun, but it has so many small issues that I had to take off 2 stars. When building a deck you cant delete cards from the deck, meaning if you mess up you have to start over again and cant edit it. Also there are some daily quests etc., But it doesnt tell you what they are. The app and menu in general are poorly designed, and the newer card packs require money to purchase instead of in game money. Sadly until this changes this game will never be popular, which means long que times. Oh yeah and theres no turn time so a game can take up to 40 minutes. So have fun waiting for your turn.

I play it daily and have for almost two years

This is a fantastic, deep strategy game. I have played it daily since January 2014 because I find it endlessly fascinating. Yes, you can spend money to get cards and the like more quickly, but you can play the game for free and just slowly build up. Since the daily rewards are far more generous than Hearthstone, it’s possible to get a real collection quickly.

Cant turn off the music

Cant turn off the music. How annoying is that?

Fun game, minor annoyances

Im new to this game, but find it enjoyable even as a new player. The overall package is well done. I have a few issues, however. First, the draft system is problematic. I give tickets, draft my packs, then play an expert level deck that uses cards not in the draft. I like that you keep the cards and get 3 more boosters after losing 4 matches, which arethe only reasons for doing them. The higher level drafts dont let you keep the cards. Second, there is no way to turn the music off. Its great music, but sometimes I would like the option. Thirdly, I generally have to open the app 3-4 times before it will stay open. Dont know why. This really is a fun and interesting take on ccgs. I just really like a balanced draft. Thanks

Good

This game is really good, but one thing that I might add is auctioning, where you sell cards to friends/random people, and they sell cards to you

3 reasons...

3 reasons I like solforge better than hearthstone 1. Deck building is a lot more fun. With hearthstone, you choose a class and mostly use cards from your class. With solforge you can combine factions and effects to build exciting synergies. 2. Constructed tourneys. Its a lot of fun trying to figure out what the popular deck of the month is and build a strategy to prevail. In Hearthstone, that "chess match" doesnt really exist. Classes dont seem to have strengths and weaknesses to each other like solforge. 3. Asynchronous. Being able to play several games at a time is nice.

This game is awesome!

I have been plying this game for about a year and some change now, and honestly this is truly amazing. Strategies change constantly, which makes for a constant construction of new decks and exploring new ideas. People that are butt hurt saying that you HAVE to pay to win are either not creative or impatient because you can have pretty amazing decks with regular cards. Of course, legendaries help a ton, but you have to collect silver or do missions or drop some money in order to get them which makes sense. The daily rewards are pretty generous, because in one day you can get 2 booster packs and about 3K silver. Plus, if you have more than 3 copies of the same card you can get rid of your extras in order to receive silver. Also there is a draft which lets you pick a random deck of cards and you get to keep all of them, this draft gives you all the rarities so you can even get a legendary sometimes (i believe there is a statistic of a person getting a legendary 1/3 or 1/4 of all drafts). If you purchase cards with real money, there is a system of sharing cards (you can only share a card once). If you dont care about dropping some cash on the game like me, find a friend or friends to do the same and you can share the cards with each other. This will allow you to get double the cards for the same amount of money which is great. If youre struggling, the Solforge website is pretty great. There are tons of forums and posts where you can learn how to use the game, get new deck ideas, and talk with the community. Everyone is nice, and there are no trolls lol. Generally a very helpful tool. There are 2 codes that you can redeem on the website in order to get 10 booster packs, I found this very helpful for beginners since I got some of my friends to download the game. The packs will give you a good starting point because thats 60 cards that youre getting right from the start. Codes are: asc_free_packs scg_free_packs Play the game, dont be hasty in deciding that its too hard or impossible, think creatively about your decks, and you will do great. If anyone wants to add me as a friend my username is: g30urg30us PS - i love you Solforge, keep it up, and i cant wait for the big update!

Great game that could be Epic

This is an awesome game that really passes the time and keeps you thinking. If there was in match chat and actual notifications when it is your turn this game would be virtually flawless. Give us an update!

Great game

Mechanics are familiar, yet unique. Very easy to learn. I love the card leveling mechanic. Only minor suggestion is the ui is very busy and could be visually streamlined.

Bizarre Difficulty Curve

>get past tutorial >everything else is literally impossible to beat I guess its either a pay-to-win or a grind-until-you-hate-yourself to win? Id rather not do either, so Im gonna pass. Nice art though.

This is all I need one of my favorite card games all around

Good game, not so good update.

Great turn bases card game. Easy to learn. Player Vs Computer (Ez/Md/Hd), Local Player Vs Player, and Online Player Vs Player (Times/Unlimited) options available. Daily rewards of in-game currency. Minimal advantage with in-app purchases. Update to deck builder decreases efficiency by forcing single card view (no longer an option to use list view). Still no audio options after 5 years hahaha!

Obvious money grab

Please understand, yes the campaign can get nearly impossible to beat and if you can achieve the victory you are rewarded handsomely. In an already saturated TCG market this game does come up short: -Events/tournaments are insanely expensive.(so many event tickets plus in game currency.) -You get two deck building slots at start. Additional slots will cost lots. -Need more event tickets? No problem, buy more with silver. Oh wait you need silver, as well, to enter the events. Everything will cost you. There is no balance. Its a straight up cash out the gate app.

Matchmaking broken

This game is a waste of money and time. If you dont buy a bunch of packs you will get wrecked. Campaign play gets stupid hard. Online play means playing people with legendary decks constantly. Im talking their first three cards, all legends. And odd heroic here and there. And these wont be like the legendary cards YOU get, oh no, these will be game changers with way higher than normal stats. Do not waste your time.

Great game - wasted on bad developers...

This is my revised review. Ive been playing this game for a long time now so I simply couldnt say solforge is a bad game, but its not as refined as it could be if it really wanted to compete with the big money ccgs out there. You need only visit the website for the game to hear this continued complaint: "where are you devs?" All this means is that you end up having a community of intelligent and competitive players trying to encourage new players, only to be buffeted by game imbalances that turn off new players. I dont know why they dont just hand it over to those diehard fans! Many of the problems players have can be addressed in nothing more than, um... Lets say a weeks worth of corporate brainstorming. Really guys. Also, the iOS client leaves something to be desired. Its a bit clunky. But otherwise, its a great game!! Really. Its a blast just trying to think up new combos and the like.

I like it!!

Good card game with solid mechanics. I really enjoy the card evolution aspect! Cant wait to see what they do in the upcoming game update!!
